WATER PLAY AT TAMAN AWAM, MIRI
Wednesday, 10 November 2010
After all the hard work preparing for the concert, every one deserved a break and have fun. So we went to Taman Awam for a picnic and water play. We chartered 3 buses to accomodate all of us ~ and that was just the beginning of an exciting day for the children. Some mothers took the time off to join us to help us with the children, and prepared a feast for the children and teachers. Thank you to all of you!
Taman Awam is about 3km away from Miri City centre along Miri-Bintulu road. There are flora gardens, souvenir shops, canteen, observatory platform, children's playground (dry & wet playground), exhibition rooms, waterfall, suspension bridge, fountains, pavilions, jogging track and other sports activities.
We started the day with some learning activities as soon as we arrived and settled down. Then we had our picnic but the children were too excited to eat much; they could not wait to jump into the pool! After changing into their swimming costumes, there was a stampede into the pool and some could not wait to change!
The teachers and mothers were in the pool too to take care of the children. We were happy that the children enjoyed themselves and that really made our day.
