November 11, 2013 ~ we made a traditional cake called Onde-Onde.
Weigh out the glutinous rice flour. |
'Gula Melaka' - sugar from coconut tree for the filling. This sugar is a traditional sweetener for local cakes and similar to brown sugar. |
Smelling the pandan leaves - give a nice smell to the cakes. |
These are pandan leaves boiled in water. The scented greenish water is used to make the dough. |
Add the pandan water and a few drops of green food colouring. |

Roll into small balls, flattened and placed a little gula melaka. |

Put the balls in boiling water. Caution : ONLY carried out by teachers . |
