Malaysia Day Mini Parade

Thursday, 15 September 2011 :- An assembly before we start the parade, singing our national anthem 'Negaraku'. We talked about the significance of Malaysia Day, the flag (Jalur Gemilang), the YDP Agong (the King) and the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The children also learned the colours, shapes and numbers of star, stripes, crescent in Jalur Gemilang . We had fun singing Jalur Gemilang and 1 Malaysia (this was top of the chart of patriotic songs).
The teachers did a wonderful job designing special hats and props for the parade. The parade was a short walk along the lane from the school to the end of the lane and the weather was not too hot. The lines in our parade may not be straight and perfect, and we stopped a number of times as there were many interesting things that caught the children's attention as they 'march' or stroll ~ but we did had an enjoyable and exciting 'march' , judging from the squeals of laughter and happy faces of the children !
