J2 Shopping For Print

Tuesday, 26 April

Junior 2 went shopping at Boulevard Hypermarket ............... !

Reading is not only from books, but reading can be done any where ~ even when we shop. PRINT are all around us , on the road signs, on food packages, on advertisement boards, etc.

In this activity, the children learnt to read the price labels, labels on products, signage around the hypermarket and also looked at the various fruits and vegetables. Obviously, the way the words and numbers written in the hypermarket are different from those that are found in work books.

Looking at the different vegetables and price labels.

Here's the many different fruits found.

Ms Ann showing the words on the one of the products.

Ms Grace and her group ~ they are definitely having a good time. These are some of the examples of the way numbers are written. The children tried to figure out how to read them. Ms Shafinaz pointing out the price of the cabbage and how to read it. Here, the staff of hypermarket showing the water chestnuts and the price. The staff turned teacher and showed the different types of fruits to the children. It was very nice of her ! Emmm ....... now how do I read this ? Reading and writing down their favourite cereal. Busy writing down all the words that they know on the food packages. The children were kept busy reading and writing down the words they knew and new words they learnt.

As you can see, there are many ways to write if you don't have any tables or chairs!

Sampling some cereal drinks ! Refreshing for the tired children.

That's what they had ~ chlorella cereal!

And some light snack to fill up hungry tummies!

Enjoying their break time !

Recieving goodies from the staff before leaving.

Class of Junior 2.

A thank you card from us!

Saying our thanks and good bye before leaving.

The helpful and friendly staff of Boulevard Hypermarket.

Thank you to the management and staff of Boulevard Hypermarket for allowing us to carry out this activity at the hypermarket and for the wonderful cooperation from the staff.

THANK YOU!
