3R Fair

13 November 2010
Boulevard Shopping Mall

3R (REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE) FAIR was organised by Miri Local Agenda 21, Miri City Council and Boulevard Shopping Complex at Boulevard Shopping Mall. The 3R fair is one of the activities carried out by Miri LA21 to create awareness with regard to waste reduction. The Mayor of Miri, Y.Bhg. Lawrence Lai Yew Son and YB Andy Chia Chu Fatt, ADUN N-64 Pujut visited the fair.
Materials can be reused or recycled not only for art and craft activities but also as learning aids. The following photos show some of the crafts and learning activities using common materials available in our homes.

Putting up the children's work the night before the event.

Some of the crafts made from paper plates, toilet roll pipes, waste papers, used plastic bags.
Others : used ribbons from presents, CDs, magazines.

We also had learning and craft activities on that day with our tadika children and other children.
Learning activity : Cutting out pictures from magazines.

Then label the body parts from the cut-out pictures.
Another learning activity - reading and letter recognition using newspapers.
