NAECCEM Education Tour To Shanghai

NAECCEM - National Association Early Childhood Care & Education Malaysia participated in the China Kids Forum in Shanghai from 20-22 October 2015 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.  There were papers presented by Prof. Dr. Zhu from China Early Education and other eminent speakers from Europe.  Besides the forum, the main attraction was the exhibition booths ~ a total of 1200 booths displaying all kinds of products for children.

Astana Concert - Beautiful Sarawak

This year theme for our concert was 'Beautiful Sarawak' - a challenging theme for the teachers & children because learning all the traditional dances of the different ethnic groups is not easy.  The stage decor was kept simple.  We thank all parents for contributing the flowers that they made out of newspapers.  we used the flowers to decorate the stage.  We also thank the parents who volunteered to be parents helpers, our event crew.  The mothers wore a lovely head band inspired by the Orang Ulu design.

Astana Concert Preparation

Our concert is this Sunday, 11 October 2015.  This year our theme is 'Beautiful Sarawak' whereby we try to showcase the many different ethnic groups living in Sarawak.  Miri alone has about 20 different ethnic groups.  Our performances include a local Malay Sarawak song, dances from the 'highlands' - Kenyah & Kayan, Melanau, Bidayuh, Iban and Chinese and Indian dances.  We have been practicing the dances but these dances are quite difficult for the children to master but they are trying their best to learn.  Anyway, we find the children performances during the practice very entertaining! We hope their parents will enjoy them as much as we did!

There are so many things to prepare and Alhamdulillah , with our parents' help and support, we got a lot of things done.  Parents helped in making the costumes, some of the props and the things we need to decorate the stage.  Thank you to our parents for your help, support and contribution.
