Ta'aruf With New Parents

We invited all our new parents to get-to-know each other session on Saturday, 24 January 2015 ~ with the objectives to foster closer relationship between parents & teachers and to get to know school curriculum.  It was a time for parents to get to know other parents too!

We would like to thank all the parents who came and bought some refreshments for our coffee break. We hope that the 'meeting of parents & teachers' will cement our partnership in our children's learning journey and education.

Fruity Wednesday

Eating fruits before the main dish or meal is following the Sunnah of  Nabi Muhamad SAW.

We try to implement this Sunnah with the children but not all were keen to eat fruits every day.   Therefore for starters, we made it compulsory to pack some fruits for the children every WEDNESDAY.  We pray that when the children will grow up, they will practice this simple Sunnah in their lives.

The ABC of Parenting

*Always trust your children to Allah’s care.

*Bring them to the Masjid.

*Challenge them to high goals In deen.

*Delight in their achievements “Masha`Allah”

*Exalt Allah in their presence “Subhaan`Allah”

*Frown on evil ” Astaghfirullah”

*Give them love and understanding

*Hear their problems, be there for them.

*Ignore not their childish fears, tell them Allah is Always there.

*Joyfully accept their apologies, Allah is All Forgiving.

*Keep their confidence.

*Live a good example before them, Islamic etiquettes.

*Make them your friends.

*Never ignore their endless questions!

*Open your heart to their love.

*Pray for them by name, …May Allah make them the coolness of your eyes.

*Quicken your interest in their spirituality, Dhikrullah (remembrance of Allah)

*Remember their needs, show mercy to them

*Show them the way of Our Prophet Muhammad SAW and his companions. (Peace be upon them All).Use this as a moral guidance for their nurturing and upbringing.

*Teach them to appreciate every little in life. “Alhamdulillah”

*Understand they are still young and Innocent. “Fitrah”

*Verify your statements, speak clearly (Repeat it 3 times) like the way Muhammad SAW used to.

*Use diplomacy to wean them from bad company.

*Encourage them to obey, Allah and their parents.

* Use Deen as their beacon for success.

*Praise them for the good they do and tactfully reprimand them for the wrong they engage in.

* Establish Talim [Teachings of the Quran and Sunnah] in the Home

* Make Mashwera [consult] with them- This will build their confidence.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:”All of you are shepherds, and each one is responsible for his flock. A leader of people is a shepherd and responsible for them. A man is like a shepherd over his family, and he is responsible for his flock. A woman is like a shepherd over her husband’s house and children, and she is responsible for them. And a slave is a guardian of his master’s property and is responsible for it. So all of you are guardians and are responsible for your charges.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Make Daily Dua for their success in this world, the grave and the life after death!

Second Week of School

As the days progressed to the second week of school, more learning activities were carried out as proper classes started.   You can say the momentum is slowly picking up.  The 5 years old  and 6 years old have little problem in settling down to school routines. Most of the 4 years old are getting better , perhaps a little anxiety when parting with their parents, but that quickly disappeared as they became engrossed with the activities.   Most of the children enjoyed the activities!

Theme 'Myself'

We started off 2015 school session with a theme on 'Myself', 'My Body' & 'My Family'.  In the midst of getting the children to settle down to school life, the teachers started some activities eg.  draw oneself, my favourite food, my name, etc and grouping the boys & girls ( learning gender), and counting the number in the class by making a simple graph.  Here are some of their work:

Happy New Year 2015

Salam to all !

Alhamdulillah,  we can start school this Monday, 5 January 2015.  It has been a very wet month - yesterday it rained almost the whole day til night.  The teachers are furiously working to prepare their classes and materials to receive new and returning children.  

We are excited to receive the children, to meet new parents and to renew our bonds with our returning parents.  We have planned lots of exciting activities throughout the year and hope that the children will benefit from them as well as have an enjoyable time.  Learning is from school to home, so we hope that parents will reinforce the learning at home.  Learning should not only be focused on the academic stuff but also to develop the iman, good manners, noble character, good moral values and practical life skills in the child.  Here, parents play a very important part in being the role models at home to develop these aspects.

We look forward to work together with all our parents to bring the best in their children.  We make doa that the children will find it easy to 'learn', may all the knowledge given & practised is blessed by Allah SWT, may we continue to seek knowledge and may Allah SWT guide us all in the right path ~ ultimately to achieve Islam as our DEEN.   Amin.
