DENTAL CARE

We had dental care last week.  The activities included a dental care talk, teeth brushing demo by 4 dental nurses (3 were our parents) , colouring competition and many other activities in the classroom.

Workshop : 'Teaching Your Child To Read & How To Use The Reading Modules'

Reading is fundamental, a requirement for every one to master ~ especially so in Islam.  We had a sharing session with the parents on 'what is reading' and 'how they taught their children to read at home' ; realizing that no child is the same.  Here are some of the parents who have expressed their views on the school and concepts of reading.

Later, we had a small group discussion on how to help our children at home -  each parent and teachers sharing their views.  At the end, we agreed that children should be encouraged to read, and we, as parents , should read to them all the time and be role models too ie. we should read too.

Birthday Cupcakes

One of the topics under the theme 'Myself' is learning about birthdays.  The children learned their own birthdays and later iced a cupcake for their birthdays.

Hair Care

Part of our school personal hygiene practices is to focus on hair care.  We invited one of our parent, Puan Syafiqah to demonstrate how to wash the hair and to give a talk on good hair care practices.

The other aspect of hair care was to check the children's hair for hair lice.

Fruits At Break Time - Eating The Sunnah Way

We are trying to encourage the children to eat fruits and the Sunnah way - ie. to eat the fruits first before eating the main food. Our first attempt of this activity was last Wednesday, 12 February 2014.   We asked the children to bring a fruit to school, any kind of fruit.  All the fruits were shared with every body.
Results :
1.  The children learned the names and tastes of the different fruits.
2.  The children had more appetite ~ eating with friends is so much more enjoyable and FUN!
3.  The children get to try other types of fruits.
4.  The children learned to share.
5.  The children were eating the Sunnah way - insya Allah it is healthier !
