Ramadan Camp

J3 RAMADAN CAMP
28 August 2010

Salam ! The Ramadan Camp was organised for the 6 year olds with the objectives to impart knowledge on the importance of Ramadan, activities that are highly recommended in Ramadan, to strengthen our parent-teacher-children relationship and to use this opportunity to increase our good deeds.
Thank you to all parents for coming to this event, for helping us with the preparation and cleaning up, for contributing the food and most of all ~ for being with us throughout the night.
A big thank you to all teachers for working hard throughout the event ~ appreciate all your contribution in making the event run smoothly and working with the children from 9.30 am to 9.00 pm. and then cleaning up after that.
May Allah SWT reward all parents and teachers for their good deeds. Jazakallah and Jazakillah khair.
We started the program with the importance of Ramadan and good deeds that are encouraged through story telling and other group projects. We had hafalan sessions and tazkirah after solat. In the afternoon, the children make Eid Fitri mobiles, fruit kebabs and decorated biscuits with icing. The favourite songs are Ramadan with Zaky (one4kids) and Upsy Daisy by Yusuf Islam (I Look I See 2) ~ you can watch this video from Youtube.
Parents joined us for Iftar, solat Maghrib, Isyak and Tarawih.

Ramadan

Salam!

RAMADAN MUBARAK

To all our Muslim parents - we pray that all your good deeds and fast will be accepted by Allah SWT.
In school, we are doing our part to reap more blessings from Allah SWT by 'reading' more of Quran through memorizing the short Surahs. To encourage the children to read more ~ we are having memorising the short Surah or 'HAFALAN' competition amongst the 4, 5 & 6 years old. In the morning, the school is buzzing with the reading of the Surahs in the class.
We encourage the children to do more good deeds and also to be more charitable. Charity jars are set up in the class to allow the children to put in some money which will be collected and pass to the needy. So far, the children are very excited and most charitable.
Our family project was the making of Ramadan greeting cards and parents were very supportive as well as very creative. Here are some of the creations.

Children's Club Activity, Miri Public Library

Salam!
CHILDREN'S CLUB ACTIVITY

On Saturday of each month, a kindergarten will volunteer to carry out children's club activity at Miri Public Library. Our turn was on 31July 2010. The children's work were then used to brighten up the children's section of the library.
Children's Club is organised by Miri Public Library, under Miri City Council. This activity is open to all kindergarten and primary school children in Miri; and it is free of charge. The purpose of this activity is to encourage the children to come to the library, to read and to enjoy the facilities provided in the library.
